This is a window at Mom's. With vintage curtains that have metal loops clicked onto the top... I love looking out this window. This is the house I lived in from 9 years old til i married... We even lived here for a couple of months with a baby because our little rental house sold and we couldn't find anything on really short notice... It will forever be a place of memories... Mostly good... some of the "bad" ones are now the ones we laugh about the hardest! Everyone needs to have a place where their roots were able to go down deep enough to make them strong when they get replanted... This is where mine were..

Flipflops in the Rain
This aggregate "clover" that I am standing on was one of a few extras that was on the property when my parents purchased this place some 45 years ago... it is actually a Club... like in card games... We never really noticed it much.. although it was just about the only rock on the whole property... My mom tells that every rock on the place was either brought in by family members, or gravel trucks... So unlike
our place in Everett which was glacial... we can't dig in the yard without practically breaking our shovels... and to plow or dig to put in a garden is hard work because of all the rocks and stones... ooooodles of them... Some of the ones here on the old homeplace came from there! Anyway, I took some pictures today and as I was trying to display the Club under my feet, I couldn't help but wonder where the Diamond, Spade, and Heart might be....
2/365 Bootie
I am tired of the sogginess of the ground... the way the wet carpet of moss and grasses feels all spongy and yuk... I am tired of the damp.... I am tired of whining, so I will stop now...

This is my long overdue photo blog... I took Amtrak to from Seattle to Eugene... Actually I was supposed to take Amtrak from Seattle to Portland then catch a (Trailways?) bus to Eugene... Collect my luggage and recheck it at Eugene and transfer from that bus to one to Coos Bay... An 8 hour trip turned into 12 hours... But alas.. I followed the sign that said Taxis and Buses... The other side of the Train Station said: Restrooms,Telephones,Baggage Claim... The ticket part was in the middle and then there were two doors on the left that led out of the station... The conductor had said to take the right hand door and that is the door that said Taxis and Buses... Well I guess I was supposed to go to the Baggage Claim area... So I missed my bus... No more til tomorrow... so I asked if there was a way to get to Eugene and was told another train would be coming through in 3 hours that would be going to Eugene.. so I called my brother who had a cancellation in the afternoon so he met me in Eugene (2 hours away from Coos Bay).
This is an abbreviated photojournal of my wait there... ***Click here****
